About Me

I'm a year old Software Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where I work on the Python SDK team. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Computer Science, and while I was there, I helped lead TAMU SHPE by implementing new software and mentoring members of my committee.

Outside of work, I enjoy designing and creating useful websites for others to use. Whether it's building a site from scratch or tweaking an existing one, I love the creative process of making something that people can interact with and enjoy.

Amazon Web Services

After completing a three-month internship, I returned to AWS as a full-time member of the Python SDK (boto3) Team. I've begun contributing to our internal infrastructure and spend time learning to help enforce design standards to ensure backwards compatability for AWS users.

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

As the Director of Technical Affairs, I lead a team in the development of a website that facilitates networking between current members, alumni, and recruiters using the Ruby on Rails framework. I also introduced our first-ever SHPEathon, a hackathon sponsored by Google which provided our members the opportunity to gain experience and develop their technical skills.

Engineering Peer Teacher

As an Engineering Peer Teacher, I collaborated with 8 professors total to ensure that students were well prepared to utilize Python in their engineering career. I had to develop various ways to communicate high level concepts to students with little or no experience in programming. Having reviewed and graded hundreds of projects, I’ve diversified my approach to different software challenges.
